Finding A New Roommate
New roommate? No worries.
Finding a roommate may be scary, especially if it is one's first time moving out and moving in with someone else. Finding someone on craigslist might not be the smartest decision however, and hopefully with our advice you are inclined to look for a roommate somewhere else.
Find someone who you know that is responsible and has had a good past with their roommates. Someone you have known for a while, or a friends' friend. Someone who isn't completely a stranger. Interview them. Ask them about their interests, hobbies, and career goals, or goals in general. Finding a perfect roommate is impossible so don't have high expectations however do have expectations to have a clean apartment, with rules and contracts. Trust your gut. Sometimes we have a gut feeling for a reason... If you feel it, don't get confused it may not be diarrhea and actually an instinct telling you to run.
Create a contract and sign both names with ground rules, strict financial rules, and chore lists... Everyone should be responsible for paying for personal expenses and cleaning their own mess.
